The Colours of the Sea
Musée Eugène Boudin, Honfleur
Devoted to the Normand work of Charles-François Daubigny (1817-1878) and of his son Karl (1846-1886), this exhibition crosses the views of these two artists: one attracted by the expanses of the ocean, the dark rocks at low tide and the cliffs, which inspired him with a new pictorial topology; the other fascinated by atmospheric effects which allowed him to develop a remarkable sensitivity as a colourist.
