Taking as its guiding thread a day in a painter’s life, this exhibition examines the way artists travel to the places where they paint (by train, or bicycle), acquire supplies (the arrival of paint tubes), form open-air friendships (in inns and guinguettes), establish a sales strategy for their works, or view critics... Canvasses, archive documents, objects and photographs enlighten such everyday rounds.
