Geneviève MAROT

Geneviève MAROT

A graduate of ESAG in Paris (Penninghen), Geneviève Marot is an illustrator for publishing and the press, a graphic reporter, and a comic book author. Invited by the NGO "Friends-Mith Samlanh" to lead workshops with the children at their center, Geneviève returned from Cambodia with numerous sketches and paintings that would form the basis of her first travel journal, published by Gallimard: Cambodia, in the streets of Phnom Penh. Now a travel journal artist at heart, she is a founding member of Les Carnettistes Tribulants (The Tribulant Journalists), an artists' collective eager to bring a fresh and unexpected perspective to the travel journal. Together, they have published several journals, including Banlieue Nomade (Nomadic Suburb), Ce que j'aime en toi (What I Love About You), Vivre Vieux! (Living Old!), Grattes-ciel (Skyscrapers), and Soupe de Nouilles (Noodle Soup), Paysannes (Peasant Women), and Bringuebalés (Runaways) with La Boîte à Bulles. Thirteen trips to Madagascar have focused her work as a graphic reporter on this country, for which she developed a deep affection.
