Miguel CHEVALIER

Miguel Chevalier is a French artist who has established himself internationally as one of the pioneers of virtual and digital art. He uses computers as a means of expression in the field of visual arts. His experimental and multidisciplinary work draws its inspiration from art history, whose essential elements he reformulates.

His work explores the question of immateriality in art, as well as the logics induced by the computer, such as hybridization, generativity, interactivity, and networking. He develops various themes, including the relationship between nature and artifice, the observation of flows and networks that organize our contemporary societies, the imaginary of architecture and virtual cities, and the transposition of motifs from Islamic art into the digital world. The images he presents perpetually question our relationship to the world.
