I am Here, by Lily van der Stokker
Playful, lively, engaging, and joyful, Lily van der Stokker's work takes as its subject not only stereotypes associated with femininity, but also the economics of artistic creation and its daily frustrations (domestic chores, health problems, financial worries, etc.). In this exhibition, a series of large murals complemented by painted furniture pieces highlight these universal themes, as well as others that have traditionally been kept away from the world of "serious" art, such as the decorative or emotional connections.
