Photography Faced by Abstraction

09.11 — 02.21

In this exhibition devoted to the forms of abstraction in contemporary photography, colour emerges as much from phenomena observed during the early days of photography, as in works where the pixel acts like a brushstroke, and where scanners and printers are producing new aesthetics. From James Welling to Stan Douglas, from Michel Campeau to Catherine Opie or else from Barbara Kasten to Paul Graham, each artist in this exhibition experiments with the limits of photography and thus echoes the researches of the impressionists.
