Electric Nights

07.03 — 11.01

The 19th century was a major period of transformations, with nocturnal cityscapes evolving with the arrival of artificial lighting. All over Europe, artists who placed the question of light at the heart of their preoccupations adopted this subject, in a mixture of fascination, curiosity and nostalgia, as can be seen in the 150 works by Monet, Pissarro, Steinlen, Bonnard, Jansson, Grimshaw, or de Regoyos... which have been brought together in this unique exhibition.
