Laurent Proux

Born in 1980, Laurent Proux lives and works in Paris. He produces powerful and original imagery. Sometimes described as realistic, his style is distinguished by the exploration of pictorial solutions definitively free from the opposition between figuration and abstraction. The human body is treated through fragments, exaggerations, and silhouettes, to better connect it to a body-machine, politicized and violated, often disturbing, sometimes sentimental.
