Join us on May 30th for the opening night DJ set!

After the explosive closing night of the 2024 edition of Normandie Impressionniste, during which DJ and producer Barbara Butch transformed the Place de la Cathédrale in Rouen into a veritable dance floor, we invite you to join us on May 30th for an evening in the heart of Rouen combining video mapping, architectural heritage and electro music by Barbara Butch.

First introduced to the public at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she has established herself on the international scene thanks to her eclectic style, blending house, disco, and pop. Her infectious energy will enhance this opening night and thrill thousands of spectators in a festive atmosphere.

For this exceptional opening of the 6th edition of the festival, the cathedral is transformed into a garden of light thanks to a monumental projection by Mika Ninagawa. The intense, immersive, and resolutely pop visual universe of the Japanese artist covers the architecture with vibrant flowers, in an encounter between Japanese tradition and contemporary culture, between Rinpa aesthetics and the energy of Tokyo's neon lights.

Japanese prints profoundly influenced Impressionist painters and opened up new freedoms in composition and framing. This dialogue between Japan and Impressionism is reborn today on the façade of Rouen Cathedral, immortalized by Claude Monet.
