This walk leads from the ancient village to the seaside resort of Cabourg to discover the town through the eyes of its painters and of Marcel Proust who, in In Search of Lost Time, made Elstir the figure of the ideal painter of the Côte Fleurie. Following his footsteps is a perfect opportunity to discover Balbec, the fictional name the author gave to this town.
While Cabourg was highly reputed in the 19th and 20th centuries, it has not been recognised as a special destination for painters. However, a few artists did take an interest in it, such as Prinet or also Ucciani, who summered there for several decades. Others, such as Vuillard, Vallotton or Paul César Helleu went there more occasionally. This visit is also an opportunity to discover Georges de Dramard, a local artist who is also well-known in Paris, who comes from the Côte Fleurie.
