Impressionist and Historical Exhibitions

En compagnie d'Eugène Boudin (1824 -1898)

Entre Côte de Grâce et Côte Fleurie, à l’aube de l’impressionnisme

04.20 — 08.26

Print
Between Côte de Grâce and Côte Fleurie, this exhibition takes us back to the dawn of Impressionism, in the company of Eugène Boudin. It was this stretch of the Normandy coastline that holiday-goers, painters and designers started to explore thoroughly in the 19th century. The period 1860-70 was, in a way, to be this sealine’s golden age, with artists initiating a new way of painting, characterised by the open air, light, instantaneity and an interest in contemporary life. This exhibition focuses on a "local boy " who forged a link between the École de Barbizon and the Impressionists: Eugène Boudin (1824-1898), coinciding with the bicentenary of this artist’s birth.
