On the occasion of the exhibition "Aller et venir de lumière" (Coming and Going of Light), presented until September 30, 2026 in the gardens of the Saint-Georges de Boscherville Abbey, Ange Leccia looks back on his artistic approach in a video made as part of the series " Impressions d'artistes" (Artists' Impressions).
A major figure in contemporary French art, Ange Leccia has been developing a body of work for several decades in which image, light, and landscape interact. Through photography, film, and installation, he creates works of great poetic power that question our relationship to time, memory, and emotions, by creating a dialogue between images and the spaces that house them.
With "Aller et venir de lumière" (Coming and Going of Light), the artist transforms the gardens of Saint-Georges de Boscherville Abbey through a pathway that connects different spaces within the site. A revisited version of "(D')Après Monet" (After Monet) in the chapter house, a constellation of filmed images at the Pavilion of Winds, and a monumental ikebana installation on the forecourt combine to create an ensemble where light, plants, and images interact with the architecture and landscape.
Echoing the world of Claude Monet, this exhibition offers a contemplative experience where landscapes become spaces of memory and perception. The works invite visitors to take a fresh look at the transformations of life and the way light reveals our environment.
