Frac Normandie – Espace de Caen

Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is known for her immersive sound installations using everyday objects, natural elements, or mechanical devices that produce autonomous sounds. Her work offers sensory experiences where sound and movement blend to create poetic and immersive environments.

In the courtyard of the Frac in Caen, echoing the former convent, he installed a "crystal garden" composed of twelve sound swings topped with church bells. Visitors are invited to wander and play, in an experience that blends play, memory, and contemplation. The work creates a dialogue between interior and exterior, linking architecture and landscape, and remains open to the variations of time and the elements.

Swings are also scattered in several locations in Normandy, notably in Rouen and Saint-Germain-de-Livet.
