DRIFT – Meadow, hanging garden

Church of the Holy Cross of Les Pelletiers

Artists Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta, founders of Studio DRIFT, draw inspiration from natural phenomena to create works that appear alive. With their installation Meadow, a suspended garden, they offer a garden and a suspended moment in time: an inverted landscape where flowers bloom on the ceiling.

This immersive artwork features luminous mechanical flowers that open above visitors, creating a poetic choreography between technology and nature, inviting a reconnection with the living world in a moment of contemplation. Installed in the Sainte-Croix-des-Pelletiers church, exceptionally reopened to the public, the exhibition also echoes Claude Monet and his time in the Netherlands, a source of inspiration for his famous Water Lilies.
