Julien des Monstiers – Pink, orange, red sun
150 years after Claude Monet, the Normandy Impressionist Festival's residency program at the Ferme Saint-Siméon continues to explore the beauty of the Honfleur landscape. A historic site that once hosted Monet, Courbet, Sisley, Corot, and Boudin, the farmhouse is now a creative space for contemporary artists.
Julien des Monstiers develops a body of work centered on materials, textures, and layers of paint, situated between figuration and abstraction. His canvases invite close observation of light, color, and form. Following an immersion in the maritime landscape, he presents a residency exhibition in dialogue with the history of the site at the Eugène Boudin Museum in Honfleur.
