Conference – Gardens of Normandy: history and representations from the Impressionists to the present day
This conference will explore the evolution of public gardens in major Norman cities, as well as Norman private gardens as depicted by painters of the period, and the impact of these changes on painting. Combining garden history and representation, this discussion aims to demonstrate how gardens in Normandy transitioned from places of inspiration to spaces for artistic creation, initially hosting sculptures and later contemporary art exhibitions.
