Paul Rousteau and the Normandy Rouen Opera Orchestra – Enchanted Gardens
The "possible garden" imagined by Paul Rousteau offers a colorful and jubilant immersion in a universe inspired by Impressionism, in homage to Claude Monet on the centenary of his death.
This video creation accompanies Pierre Dumoussaud's first concert as musical director of the Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen, creating a dialogue between image and music in an impressionistic Normandy where timbre becomes color and silence becomes breath.
The musical program explores the birth of French modernism through the works of Ropartz, Satie, Schmitt, and Ravel. David Walter's orchestrations bring a new dimension to Satie's Gymnopédies and Gnossiennes, while Schmitt evokes misty landscapes still influenced by Wagner. The journey concludes with Ravel's Ma Mère l'Oye, a musical tale of delicate refinement.
