Olivier Masmonteil – Impression of a nascent garden

Olivier Masmonteil, long associated with landscape painting, gradually distanced himself from it only to return to it more effectively, exploring its limits and possibilities. With this new series, he makes a decisive shift: he abandons the image and the horizon to question the very substance of painting. By renouncing appearances, he embarks on a radical approach where each canvas becomes a space for intimate confrontation, the pictorial layers overlapping like emotional strata. The exhibition thus presents a profound artistic metamorphosis through a new body of paintings brought together under the title Destroying Painting.
