Marie-Armelle Deguy and Constance Luzzati – Listening to the Birds
Poems and prose texts, both classical and contemporary, put into words the song of birds, their flight, and the murmurations formed by their close formations; they sublimate them, dissect them in humorous and philosophical texts, and make them ring and resonate with alliteration or rhyme.
Music provides a sounding board and a special lighting for these texts, drawing as much from the rich harpsichord repertoire, from the familiar great classics of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as from pieces composed for harp in the 21st century, which transform the sonic imagination associated with winged beings.
