Jacques Perconte – At the Edge of the Forest

Since the 1990s Jacques Perconte, a visual artist and experimental filmmaker, has been developing a practice based on the digital transformation of video images. He experiments with alterations in colour and form in an approach that is reminiscent of the Impressionist aesthetic. Whilst he was in residence in Vargenville-sur-Mer, in Normandy, he explored the idea of a « possible garden » between the land and the sea. In his works Brun, Bruis and Bleu, he creates poetic landscapes where nature (plants, sea and light) is recreated using digital technologies. The resulting work is presented in the form of single prints and videos at the Michel Ciry Museum, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in imaginary plant-filled landscapes.
