Plant Impressions – Monet's Birds
The Seine-Maritime Department is offering a plant creation at the Clères park, at the crossroads of art, garden and vision.
The project draws on two lesser-known paintings by Claude Monet, *The Turkeys* and *The Magpie*, exploring the theme of birds, a subject rarely explored in a body of work primarily focused on landscapes and gardens. The project deconstructs these paintings and invites the viewer to reconstruct them. *The Turkeys* is fragmented into squares, displaced and rearranged like a game of building blocks, a popular pastime at the end of the 19th century. An "intruder" square, taken from *The Magpie*, disrupts the composition. The reconstructed painting is presented vertically on a monumental tarpaulin, while its reflection unfolds on the ground as a carpet of vegetation.
