The Tale of Water – Footprints, encapsulating a garden
What if the maritime gardens of Tatihou Island, a unique island territory, revealed themselves less through what they show than through what they make you feel, like an Impressionist painting?
"Empreintes, encapsuler un jardin" (Imprints, Encapsulating a Garden) is a participatory art-science project conducted on Tatihou Island, blending research-creation with sensory experience. Like Claude Monet fragmenting light, it captures the ephemeral and the invisible—sounds, smells, tastes—along a path between untamed nature and cultivated gardens. Conceived as a dialogue between artists, scientists, and citizens, it takes the form of immersive experiences: performance walks, olfactory strolls and concerts, and sensory mapping.
